Tiny Tot / Rainbow Early Years Centres offer child care at three different locations. The Kensington Road centre has been licensed since 1972. We are a family oriented business with a strong emphasis on parent and educator communications. We provide our child care in bright, roomy buildings with large outdoor facilities for playtime. Transportation for field trips and community activities are provided by our centres. With fully certified educators on staff, all programs are designed specifically for age-appropriate development.
Tiny Tot / Rainbow Early Years Centres are proud to have three directors with years of experience behind them in child care and education. Our directors are:
Pam Barrett – Director of Tiny Tot Early Years (Kensington Road)
Pam has been in the early childhood field for 25 years and has been employed with Tiny Tot Early Years Centre for the past 15 years. She has her diploma in early childhood education from Holland College. She has attended numerous workshops and conferences to keep current of any changes or new learning strategies within the early childhood field. Pam is familiar with working in all age groups, but has spent the majority of her teaching within our pre-kindergarten program as well as our school-age program.
Pam has recently hosted a school-age workshop titled “Too Cool for Daycare” in November 2011 for educators who were involved in after school care. Pam presently lives in the Charlottetown area with her two boys, Tyler and Sam.
Darla Farquharson – Director of Tiny Tot Early Years (Pope Avenue)
Darla brings 17 years of experience in early childhood education. Darla graduated from the Institute for Early Childhood Education and Development Services at the Nova Scotia Teacher’s College in 1995. She has been with Tiny Tot since 1996 and has worked with all age groups, spending the majority of her years in the pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and school-age groups. Darla has been the director of Tiny Tot (Pope Avenue) since its beginning in August of 2006. Darla currently lives in Parkdale with her husband and family.
Marlene Loo – Director of Rainbow Early Years (Summerside)
Marlene started her career path in July of 1980 at a child care centre in the Summerside area as a summer student. She entered the Early Childhood Extension Program in November of 1984 and then graduated in June of 1986. She has been employed at Rainbow Early Years Centre since September 4, 1990. During her time in this field, she has worked with children of all ages and has been a supervisor for over 20 years. She is committed to attending ongoing training and conferences to stay current with any changes within the field. Marlene currently lives in the Summerside area and is the Mother of four children and the Nana to two wonderful grandchildren.
